Command Descriptions

Usage : prompt
This toggles the command prompt on and off.

Usage : desc [<description phrase>]
This sets the message your description , ie that which follows your name when other people view the room or use the "who" command etc. If you omit the description it displays your current one.

Usage : motd
This allows you to view the announcement file, that is shown as you login.  For most people, it scrolls by too fast to read, so this command was added to allow you to see it all.

Usage : who
This shows who is logged on at any particular time.

Usage : swho
This shows statistics for those signed in.

Usage : help [<command name>/commands/credits]
This shows help for each command as well as showing a complete list of commands and the code credits.

Usage : wizlist
This shows you:

  • 1) A list of ALL the POD wizzes
  • 2) A list of those wizzes currently logged on

    Usage : accreq <email address>
This command is the final stage in auto-promote for users wishing to create an account here.  The idea is that they give their email address so the sysop can mail them to confirm their identity.

    Usage : set <option> [<text>]
       Options: <desc/gend/age/species/email/url/color/mood/
    fmail/autoread/birthday/hide/noise/autofwd>

This command allows you to set most of your profile attributes.
The ones you can set with this command are listed above. If you try to set an invalid attribute, you are presented with an error message and a list of valid set parameters. Also, typing .set and the attribute name will display your current setting for that attribute.

    Example: .set gend
    Would Display:  Gender Set to: {whatever you have set}

    Setting Quick-guide:
.set desc allows a 26 character short description to be set.
.set gend sets your gender (male/female).
.set age sets your age (3 digit max).
.set species insert here what species you are.
.set email sets your e-mail for all to see in your .ex
.set url sets your www homepage location in your .ex
.set color allows you to change your text color (see below).
.set mood allows you to set your present mood by way of emoticons.
.set fmail allows you to set a mail address for .smail forwarding.
.set autoread allows you to auto-read new mail when you get it.
.set birthday sets your birthdate (month/day).
.set hide allows you to mask your e-mail or url
.set noise allows an action to follow your name on says.
('.set noise squeak' would produce:  Fin squeaks: hiya!)
.set autofowd enables smail being sent to your set fmail address.

NOTE: Valid settings for 'color' are:
white or FW, red or FR, yellow or FY,
purple or FM, green or FG, blue or FB,
    turquoise or FT

    Usage    : emote <message>
Emotes allow you to express emotions. A example would be
"Fred feels sad".  If you were logged in as Fred you would enter
".emote feels sad" and your user name will be prepended to the front. A semi-colon can be used as a short cut for this command so:
";feels sad" would have the same affect as the above. The result is seen in the room you are currently in.

Usage : passwd [old passwd] [new passwd]
This command allows you to change your password to login. If you change your password, remember what you change it too, beacuase obviously, that is what you will have to type to login again later.

    Usage : ranks [<level name>]
This command will first list out all the ranks in this talker, with command totals and such for each level.  when, used in conjunction with the level name, a description of that level will be given to you.
