POD History
The history of our pod stems from several different origins.
Some phins came from other talkers, some from IRC, some from
out of the blue.
The first collection worthy of note happened on a talker by
the name of The Plane of Peace. After about 7 months of being
there, an instability of the owner of the talker caused this
location to be quite turbulent and unreliable so our pod had
to find calmer waters. We settled into a quiet cove on Sleepy's
Ocean port where we kept to ourselves for about 2 months while
the pod leaders worked hard to locate a new home for their precious
family.
On September 22, 1998 the talker P.O.D. (the Place Of Dolphins),
booted for the first time and began serving the public. Since
that inception date, our base code has matured and many new,
unique, and exciting changes have been made. We have an active
administrative presence and hundreds of features yet to add.
At the time of this writing, POD has 20 active users.
