POD advancement
Below is a listing of the user ranks of POD accompanied with
a brief description of the ideals required to be considered for
promotion.
Outcast
This being the rank that you become when you are arrested, 'promotion'
from this rank is only given when what you were arrested for has been
resolved.
Calf
Promotion from the rank of Calf is dependent on POD users having
had a chance to talk to you as well as the registration of a valid
e-mail address using .accreq. POD users will ask you about your
interest in dolphins, how you found POD, and introduce you to
the basic functions of the talker. Sometimes Calves will be
promoted upon their first visit to POD, sometimes it will take
several logins.
Transient
Transient rank is the level at which users will really get to know
their POD. The time it takes to get promoted is 100% dependant on
the transients attitude and the opinions of other established
members of POD. The key to this is for the majority of the pod
members to get to know you well enough to say that they
would like you to become part of the family.
Logging on and idling is not a way to earn a promotion.
If you don't talk, there's no way you can benefit the pod.
Adphin
Basically, consideration for promotion to being an adphin comes by
recommendation. You need to be recommended by an
existing adphin in POD for the leaders to consider
you as a new adphin. From there, the leaders will start
watching you a little closer to see if you possess the
qualities of an adphin. Some of these qualities include:
- Helpful to new users in showing them around pod.
- Polite and considerate to users.
- Exercises common sense in settling disputes.
- Gets along well with the other adphins.
To be considered, please contact an existing adphin and
let them know you are interested in becoming one.
They will notify the leaders.
