POD rules
First of all, let us go
over what POD is. POD is a dolphin/cetacean related talker.
With that being said, people not interested in dolphins need not waist
their time and ours by signing on. Said people will find the ranking
structure of POD terribly restrictive and will not understand just about
anything that goes on there. Now, on to the rules.
-
Harassment of members of POD is unacceptable.
Our definition of harassment is fairly wide and INCLUDES people which we
fondly refer to as 'freaks'. A 'freak' is generally a person that
exhibits no maturity at all. Acting bizarre, complaining about the
talker , making 'jokes' about killing dolphins, pestering loyal members
of POD to the degree that they have to leave the room or even the talker
to escape; all of these are behaviors that are dealt with swiftly and often
with little or no mercy.
-
POD is not an 'adult' talker, but, with
most of the users on this talker taking dolphin form, there is little restraint
enforced of sexual behavior which can even escalate to mating in the main
room. We being a dolphin pod consider such behavior to be a part
of every day life and it is NOT against our rules. If such behavior
offends you, you may kindly request that it be moved to a different room,
but the members are NOT required to comply. Dolphins will NOT change
their views on sexuality just to accommodate a less open minded species.
-
If a user, for whatever reason, decides
to terminate their membership in our pod, and at a later date decides
to come back, said user will enter pod from the lowest level and be forced
to work their way through the social ranks again. This INCLUDES not
logging onto POD for times exceeding 30 calendar days in length.
POD only exists because of the dedication of its members.
(If admins are notified of an extended away time in
advance, account will remain intact)
-
Multiple accounts are not permitted on
POD. If you wish to change your name, please consult with an admin
first.
-
Malicious acts upon the talker are of course
not permitted as well. Our definition of malicious includes exploitation
of system bugs, attempting to mask reverse lookup of your domain, attempting
to sign on as or be other users, and of course advertising other talkers
on POD trying to make users leave. Most of these will result in an
immediate ban.
-
People logging onto POD for the sole reason
of gathering information about dolphins, 'reporters' as we call them, are
not welcome on POD. We believe that there are plenty of well written
dolphin information databases available on the net and that our users should
not have to copy and paste them for a user that intends to leave once they
get what they need.
-
Along with the 'reporter' rule, users that
come on to POD with the intension of only collecting pictures, (of
dolphins or pictures pornagraphic in nature), will be asked to cease or
leave.
-
Here are a few other things that need not
be looked too deeply into, just don't do them.
-
Blipping (logging and logging off without
even saying hi)
-
Challenging of authority
-
Cursing
-
Lurking (logging on and not idling, but
not saying anything either)
-
Being a user of the talker named IOD. (Isles of diversity)
-
One further thing.... the owners of POD
are anti-captivity. We are in 100% support of Rescue Rehabilitation
and Release, but the excuse of public education to support slavery, exhibition,
and systematic abuse of dolphins in abusement parks is something that we
are NOT in support of. If you find yourself LIKING captivity and
what it does, we would suggest either not logging on in the first place,
or keeping your thoughts to yourself on that issue. For if you do
log on, and see the need to become a 'pro-captivity activist', you will
very quickly find yourself not on POD anymore. Thanks, but no tanks.
