Usage : look
Shows the description of the current room, who is in it, how
many messages are on the board and the rooms access.
Usage : faq [<filename>]
This command gives a list of files that can be viewed and read
for information about topics pertenant to the talker.
Usage : read [<roomname>/<boardname>]
This displays the message board of a given room or free board.
If no argument is supplied it assumes your current room as default.
you can only read the room you are currently in unless you are a wiz.
Usage : back
This command will return any level user to the main room (login room).
Most common use will be Transient level users who have been 'brought' to
other rooms. This command is universal and will work no matter where on
POD the user is (not dependant on rooms being conjoined).
Usage : review [<roomname>]
This will show the last few lines of conversation, emoting and
echoes that took place in the room which you are in. Usefull if
you get disconnected in the middle of a conversation or if you
want to catch up on the present topic when you enter.
Usage : status [<username>]
This shows you all the important stats about your login. Its self
explanatory really. Also shows some general info about other users.
Usage : last <username>
This commands shows you the users last login time, and how long ago
that they were online.
Usage : entpro
This command allows you to enter a lengthy description (profile)
of yourself that people will see when they use the examine command.
Since you can write anything you like here people tend to use it
for all sorts of things.
Usage : examine [<username>]
This commands shows you the users profile and various usefull
statistics relating to his current or most recent login.
Usage : afk [lock] [<message>]
This command allows you to set yourself to "away from keyboard" which
shows up when people "look" at the room and you will pronounced afk if
they try to tell you or pemote something to you. Just press return to
reset unless you have specified the "lock" option will lock your session
and prevent someone using it while you away from the terminal. Enter
your talker password and press return to unlock it. You can leave an
optional message when you go afk which will be sent to anyone trying to
.tell or .pemote to you.
Usage : color
This command toggles colour on and off. The color itself is
controlled by embedded tags in text strings which all begin with
a '~', eg ~FG. They are the following...
Control tags...
~RS : Rest terminal to default state
~RV : Reverse video
~OL : Bold
~LI : Blink/flash text. This only works on some terminals,
others may simply display it as bold.
~UL : Underline text. As with blink this doesn't work on all
terminals, some just display it as bold.
Foreground color tags... Background color tags...
~FK : Foreground black
~BK : Background black
~FM : Magenta/purple
~BM : Magenta/purple
~FR : Red
~BR : Red
~FY : Yellow/orange
~BY : Yellow/orange
~FG : Green
~BG : Green
~FB : Blue
~BB : Blue
~FT : Turquoise/bright blue
~BT : Turquoise/bright blue
~FW : White
~BW : White
To display the color tags as themselves without them
producing a
color prepend the ~ with a / , eg /~FG
Usage : time
This command displays the Servers local time, and a few usefull
statistics about this talker.
Usage : suggest <message>
This allows you to make a suggestion to the owners/coders of
this talker. Suggestions might include new command ideas, new
rooms/room names, etc.
Usage : session [<message/-w>]
This command is for the use as a discussion forumn throughout the
talker. Users may pose topics, and other users may comment on those
topics. If the users does not write a message after the session, this
command will display the active session, or prompt the user that they
may wish to set a session, if one is not set.
Options: <message> -- topic that is set by the user.
-w -- see who set the active
session.
Usage : comment <message>
This command will store a comment to an active session, if a session
is not set this command will prompt the users that they may wish to set
a session.
Usage : sto <user> <text>
Note: The person you are speaking to must be in the same room as you
for it to work. Also note that the name can be shortened.
Say to - In order to speak to a user publicly, yet specifically to them
you can use the .sto command. This will display a message You say ( to
<user> ): <text>, where user is the user you specified.
Example: say Dolfin types .sto phin hi!
Would produce: Dolfin says (to Phin): Hi!
Usage : accept
Used to accept a tandem swim offer.
Usage : break
Used to terminate a tandem swim. This command may also be
used to cancel the OFFER of a tandem swim.
Usage : version
This shows the PODnuts version number that is currently running.
